This is a common tag that normally goes by the mane of The Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. Thank you to everyone who did this already this year I saw one of you and decided to do it.
Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2019?
The first one, If We Were Villains spoke to my own experience at college, despite the setting in the book to be more of a Shakespeare cult and my school is more of a tree cult.
Best Sequel of 2019 so far?
I didn’t read many sequels. I guess The Princess And The Fangirl, but it’s more of a companion than a sequel. And I only loved it for the sapphic romance in it.
New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want to?
I’m gonna go with Slayer. I’ve only watched a handful of Buffy, and loved it, but haven’t had the opportunity to see more.
Most Anticipated Release of the Second Half of 2019?
Fountains Of Silence I know nothing of the Spanish civil war and I don’t read historical fiction, so this should be interesting.
But book-wise, I almost DNF’d Muse Of Nightmares.
I will not shut up about I Wish You All The Best. Ever.
Favourite New Author?
Besides Stephen King and Jen Wilde, I haven’t read multiple books by the same author. I want to say Claire McNab, who wrote the lesbian mystery series Carol Ashton, but there are huge gaps in my library’s collection, so I’ve only read the first one.
Newest Favourite Character?
A lot of characters are annoying this year, but I gotta say MERLIN from ONCE & FUTURE. I LOVE MERLIN IN ALL RETELLINGS.
Book That Made You Cry?
Book That Made You Happy?
I don’t think you understand the type of book I read. But Heavy Vinyl is pretty cute.
Favourite Book to Movie Adaptation You’ve Seen This Year?
Does Merlin count? I love Merlin.
Favourite Review You’ve Written This Year?
and, like I said, I refuse to shut up about it, but no review will do it justice:
Most Beautiful Book You Bought or Received So Far This Year?
What Books Do You Need to Read by the End of the Year?
I have 563 books on my goodreads TBR. I just did this bloody 8 Readathons Over 6 1/2 Months
But there are a few books coming out later rather than sooner because there’s a time and a place that’s unique to every book depending on how safe and comfortable they feel. And some are just fed up with this whole “coming out” thing and it doesn’t matter if they’re friends or bookfriends, so long as they’re happy.
So these books are:
